WPPN Announces HealthEOS as New Brand Name
The MultiPlan/Wisconsin Preferred Provider Network (WPPN) has selected a new brand name under which it will market a comprehensive set of products and services designed to reduce the cost of health care for its clients. The new brand name is HealthEOS.
The new name refers to Eos, the Greek goddess of the dawn. Bruce Lefco, President and CEO, says, "We believe that our new HealthEOS approach to health care will bring a new dawn in both the quality and cost of health care. HealthEOS offers an extraordinary set of tools, unlike those of any other network. We believe these tools, our EOS solutions, will help employees get well faster, stay well longer, and save their employers a lot of money."
The new EOS approach to healthcare offered by HealthEOS includes . . .
- The WPPN Partnership Network, the largest and most comprehensive PPO network of hospitals, physicians and ancillary health services in Wisconsin
- Nationwide network coverage through MultiPlan, the largest PPO network provider in the country, with over 400,000 providers and 2,800 acute care hospitals.
- A new method of analyzing the treatment patients receive, called CareEngine Servicesm, that helps doctors reduce misdiagnoses, select the most appropriate drugs, reduce the length of recovery time, and reduce the cost of health care.
- CareEngine sm Service also offers a remarkable Disease Management Identifier option which helps provide an early-warning to the doctors of employees who are at-risk for certain medical problems, such as heart disease or diabetes. The Identifier also offers the physician information about the latest treatments, based on accepted standards of clinical excellence and the latest clinical research.
- Specialized networks in Chiropractic Managed Care and Dental Care, and the flexibility to create customized specialty networks in nearly any field of medicine.
- An ultramodern computer system to quickly reprice claims, reducing the frustrating paperwork bottleneck that slows down traditional network operations.
The HealthEOS WPPN Network is now the largest healthcare network provider in Wisconsin. With its recent acquisition of the Health Care Network (HCN), set for completion in July 2002, the HealthEOS networks will have over a million lives. The HealthEOS Service Center handles over a billion dollars in claims each year. Its networks include over 150 hospitals and 15,000 provider locations throughout the State and in adjacent areas of Michigan and Minnesota.
